I have completely mixed feelings about religion. I often think it's just a placebo used by people worried about dying. Then again, I worked for a thrift store that was owned by a church, and I saw real value in the sense of community that the church provided. Plus, this church did a ton of charity work that really helped people. They wrote vouchers that a person down on their luck could use to get clothes for free and even furniture and cooking tools. They had classes to help people learn how to make a resume and search for a job. And the class was actually extremely good. It was the best class on job hunting I ever had, and it worked. I found work that pays well. Plus, I know any time I need to go out and get a job, I know exactly what to do.

It's also churches that for years kept hypergamy in check. Without them, the King would have his queen plus loads of concubines to bang, as would high-status men like princes and knights. Every other dude was just a lowly peasant who would work his ass off for barely anything and not get any, or even get sterilized. It's churches who set up the one man one woman system of monogamy.

I used to think religion was worthless, but now I can't help but see value in it. However, I still don't believe their tall tale stories, like Jesus came to earth and walked on water and got nailed to a fence to save our butts from sin. That all sounds like nonsense to me. However, I can't help but admit that there's a ton of good that religions have done.

I'm totally conflicted. Then again, maybe religion is anti-MGTOW because you're not really going it on your own if you rely on a church community. Anyone else wrestled with these issues?
