I don't care. I use the same account for everything. If users from other subreddits decide to browse through my comment history and come up with ad hominem attacks, I simply ignore them or respond with real arguments.

GYOW should not be a source of shame. If I used two different accounts, I would contribute to that.

First, if you have to troll someone's post history in order to 'beat' them, both of you have already lost. Most people are at least slightly complex, and are allowed to have a diverse set of views.

Second, I rarely ask advice for stuff on here. But when I do, I always use a throwaway.

Shit like "Yeah says the MGTOW poster" trying to get others involved in "winning that argument" because you're MGTOW.

And I've realized one thing. There's nothing on Reddit worth arguing about.

You will not sway opinion or influence others and especially not the dweebs who will use MGTOW against you, as if it somehow discredits you.

So here is what you do.

Don't be afraid to block people. I know it seems like work, but not everyone on Reddit is a dick. If you're frequenting certain subs, then it's likely the same dicks are too. Just outright block them. If you follow point 2, you'll need to do less blocking.
Don't get emotionally involved in any heated discussion. It's Reddit, and most of the users are immature twerps. No need to get right in there and try to educate them.
Focus on the original post. Enjoy the content. Comments are secondary. Absolutely don't get into any discussions on the main subs. The more broad the sub, the more idiots exist.

Grand truth of life: Always have two accounts. One that's public-facing - that's the "mask" you put on in case anyone ever tries to scope out your post history or look you up under a Google search - and one that's private. The private one you don't tell ANYONE about. Not your brother, not your best friend - NOBODY. It's the account where you let your thoughts run free and actively express yourself.

Until we live in a world where people can actually judge someone on who they currently are, and not who they were in the past, this will likely have to be the norm. We all have to be careful, because what we do and say, even decades in the past, can and will be held against us.

I ran into this same problem. So I created a second account.

But it makes me laugh.

Some users pride themselves on publicly dismissing comments posted by people who participate in subs that are contrary to their sensibilities. Some even attempt to humiliate these posters.

The natural reaction is to create second accounts. And that's what makes me laugh. It destroys the snowflakes' ability to filter comments as they once did.

It's like a case study in self-sabotage.
