A lot of people judge you on your clothes, car, job etc. I am aware of this but I don't make any effort to buy expensive clothing, drive fancy cars, live in a McMansion etc. I live well below my means which makes a lot of people think I must be really poor. Other people like to talk about their salaries, their net worth, the luxury goods they own but I always try to avoid this topic. There is more to relationships than money but it seems most people just care about consumerism.

In a blue pill world this would be a sign that I need to start consuming more to keep up with my peers but I don't see the point of consumerism. It doesn't interest me. I like to focus on buying things that are practical for daily life.
