Statistics say 50% of couples get divorced but blue pillers argue the real number is much lower and MGTOW argues it's much higher.

The blue pillers want to be believe divorce rate is low because they don't want men to avoid marriage.

LOL if you "never saw it coming" and get slapped with divorce then you were not in a "happy stable marriage" to begin with.

You shouldn't tell people to get married.

Divorce rate of marriages are no longer at 50%. Divorces surged in the 70s and 80s skewing the stat. Current divorce rates are around 15%.

If you have a 15% of losing Russian Roulette would you try it?

90% of divorces are settled out of court.

This doesn't invalidate the men who lost all their wealth.

Lower income couples are more likely to get divorced than higher income couples. (Meaning [1] it's unlikely that divorce was prompted by trying to take all of one's retirement money, and [2] lower-income couples are more likely to jump into a marriage that isn't great, because they are financially incentivized to do so just to survive.)

People still lose money over divorce.

People usually divorce when they are young, not old. Average age of divorce is 30 - very few people have significant assets at 30. How about that college debt?

People are motivated to change the number to fit their narrative. FIRE pushes the blue pill narrative and bans anyone who blames divorce for ruining their early retirement goals.
