When you're happy, sad, lonely, angry, frustrated, depressed...Keep and use a journal often

Many times, as we go our own ways, even if we have a good circle of friends, we can feel like we have no one to share with. A place to safely express our thoughts. After my divorce, I worked with a therapist to help me work through my insecurities and abandonment issues and he advised to keep a journal. I did and found it really helped not only get my thoughts out and to talk to "someone" but later, when I was in a better mental place, it helped me look back and reflect on how I was feeling at the time and in some cases how silly the issue really was.

Important note: My journal is a password locked text file on my computer so I can be nasty, brutal and 100% honest with no fear of it coming back to bite me in the ass...

Has anyone else ever done this?
