The fact she is trying to turn the kids against you is concerning. Lawyer up. She does not appear to take a mature approach about this. Expert the worst.

You should not move out, because it sets a precedent that you don't care about spending time with the kids. Counter-offer that you move into the guest bedroom, or garage, or sleep in a tent in the backyard, but don't leave the presence of your children, and stay involved in their lives.

I am more scared that my kids are going to think I am a monster. I love them and am crushed I have hurt them.

Adultery has nothing to do with your relationship with your children, and you can ask your wife to kindly stop talking about that with the kids. You should bring that up with the lawyer, and make that a condition, in writing, of any kind of settlement, or interim agreement.

In most states, you're entitled to close to half-time custody. Make it clear to your wife that you'll be seeking that, and divorce is not just her getting your house, your kids full-time, and your cash for a few decades. Hopefully you're not actually an asshole, and the worst thing she has on you is that you put your dick in somebody else. Big whoop. It happens. Unless you're a minister you shouldn't fear that becoming public info. Hopefully the other woman(en) are pretty.

It might be too late, but hopefully your wife has some job skills, and has not just been SAHM. I spent years of money and effort getting my wife working again. It's worth it, and she now makes almost as much as me. If you end up sticking with your wife, learn that lesson.

Pretty fucked up that you consider the prospect of salvaging your family to be rooted in "weakness".

You can be happily or unhappily divorced the same way you can be happily or unhappily married.

If it were me, I'd try to salvage my marriage, primarily because I like seeing my kids every day.
