Still part of MGTOW but wanted to point out a discrepancy. It's different in the U.S. Most mental health counselors and social workers are women but most psychologists are men. The difference being psychologists require a phd or psyd and whereas counseling just requires a masters to be licensed.

Most women do that cause its easier and they cite wanting kids as the main deterrent of pursuing a phd or md. Even with this though they still complain about making less than the actual psychs lmao.

Why? Because the training itself involves teaching feminist lies-I saw man after man drop off the course as the years went on and the feminist lies being taught increased.

Some are infamous. "Kitty Gevonese". Her fake story is STILL being taught as fact even though its been PROVEN to be false.

(Its a myth that society watched on while a woman was raped and did nothing-but its been proven to be completely false yet is still taught on the course as "proof" that society doesnt care about women)....

TLDR-Most therapists are women because the training spouts feminist myths and lies that attract them to doing it.

This pretty much fits with at least one widely espoused theory that in terms of vocation, men in the aggregate tend to be interested in "THINGS" and women in the aggregate tend to be interested in "PEOPLE".

In the 20th century, more women were pursuing advanced degrees as colleges and advanced degree programs opened up to them. It should be no surprise that clinical psychology drew women in if we consider that, in the aggregate, women tend to be interested in vocations dealing with PEOPLE.

A relatively recent phenomenon also piles on, and my wife will tell you it's true (she is a clinical mental health counselor in private practice for some time now). The field of psychology ALSO became more ideological. If you didn't toe the feminist line that men were fucked up because men are fucked up, and women were fucked up because of fucked up men, then you were not likely to advance through the ranks.

WIth that said, in the US, according to my wife, psychiatrists tend to give out prescription medications after a 15 minute chat, and send you to a therapist to talk about your shit while the prozac does (or doesn't do) its thing. I would suspect that if the field of psychiatry (as opposed to general therapy) includes more actual patient time, that this, combined with the current gatekeeping within the ranks of psychiatry educators, would tend to skew the field towards women.

Presently in the US, I've seen figures stating that between 58% to 64.8% of psychiatrists are female, and that upwards of 70% of the therapists are female.

Clinical psychology of a century ago cannot possibly compared to modern psychology. It used to be quite experimental and focused on treating people with very serious issues, now treatment isn't even the focus any more. A lot of it is about normalizing deviant behavior, even if it may be debilitating to the person whether they realize it or not.

When was the last time a serious new medicine or treatment was introduced that alleviates psychological issues? The most effective ones have existed for a long time. It has become focused on socializing with extra flair and hasn't seen a significant scientific basis for superior efficacy to simply socializing with anyone willing to listen.

Interesting, in 🇺🇦, psychology was traditionally, a female profession (except for criminalistics and such), but in last years it shifts. I hear and see about more males in that sphere.
