Thanks to the heroic efforts of law enforcement, including the FBI:

FBI rescues 82 children in nationwide sex trafficking sting

Among the 82 juveniles recovered during the three day operation were two sisters in Milwaukee, ages 16 and 17, who told authorities that their mother was their pimp, the FBI said in a news release.

One month ago, we learned that children in this situation may not be provided equal access to help:

Reddit user and former undercover task force member /u/BTCMon explains:

From 2007 through 2008 I worked on a smuggling interdiction task force. My team dealt with human trafficking. My job was all bullshit and I regret that we couldn't really do anything to put a dent in the problem. I worked undercover in that I did not wear a uniform or carry a badge and my authority was civilian so I only reported to LEAs. The most taboo thing I witnessed that I was not allowed to do anything about was women (mothers, aunts, grandmothers) offering children for sex in exchange for cash. ...

We acted on this information and sought justice for these children through:

Action Opportunity: Reject Reported Illegal Pattern or Practice of Not Charging Women and Mothers Who Traffick Children

Including petitioning the USDOJ and FBI.

While we can't say if there's any relationship between our calls to rescue the unfortunate children sex trafficked by their mothers, and the rescue of these particular girls, or other children, trafficked by their mothers, our public outcry for justice for those children at least raised awareness, and one month later, at least two children in that exact situation were rescued.

Thank you to each and every person who participated.
