Prominent Oxford rabbi Eli Brackman, who admitted he had not seen the film, added: “Circumcision (Milah) has been performed for thousands of years. It is a core religious and cultural practice. Interfering with the rights of Jews and of other religions to perform Milah infringes one of the most fundamental aspects of religious freedom.

"That's the way we've always done it", is not a valid defense against doing better today.

Isn't there something about stoning people to death for adultery in the old testament too? Yet, we don't continue the practice because it's barbaric. Same with circumcision. We are more civilized people.

Well it needs to be seen. I'm personally for the argument that they can concede to circumcision as an adult. There's even precedent in the Torah.

There is no justification for mutilating the genitals of a child! Bodily autonomy should be one of the most basic human rights.

Oxford Men's Group's Mr Sandford added: "Non-therapeutic circumcision is illegal being almost certainly Grievous Bodily Harm. Oxford Men's Group believes that the law should be enforced so that boys are protected from genital cutting, just as girls are. We only ever talk about genital mutilation when it happens to girls, this is not equality and the situation needs to change".

Religion does not trump mutilating a child. My parents are Christians, loosely, and I was cut. So was my brother. It possibly led to a surgery that we both needed as infants.
