Tbh I think it mostly has to do with the idea that women do buy much more clothes than men. (which is true, at least in all the groups of people I've frequented)

In my country changing booths are genderless though so it's not a problem I ever experienced. And I really don't see why they make these gendered.

It's because of the volume they sell. I expect a place that sells to men to be geared to men and vice versa. By and large they are.

I'd feel like a hypocrite if I took issue with this. Having been to a lot of professional sports events, I've noticed there's always more mens rooms than womans. Never thought it was a big deal as more men than woman go to sporting events. When the SJW nitwits took issue with this, well, I just dismissed them as nitwits for thinking there should be equal facilities even though everyone freely admits there are going to be more men. More woman shop for things that need to be tried on before purchasing.

Whether it's sexist or not, I have noticed men's stuff is kind of hidden away in clothing stores like H&M, DSW, etc. You have to take four escalators to the top floor to get to the men's shoes at my nearby DSW. Every other floor is for women's products. There was another store I went to that I can't remember and I had to walk through what seemed like a mile through all the women's stuff to get to the men's corner. Literally a corner, not even a section.

At the Target store most of the shoe aisles are taken up by women's shoes. Out of about 6 doubled sided racks there is maybe one full rack.

I don't know if it qualifies as 'sexism' necessarily, I do think though it's incredibly thoughtless depending on what the place is, my favourite thing is how they assign the toilets especially if there are far more men coming to the particular building than women.

I think other people are right though in this is more about women buying more clothes than any genuinely malevolent intentions.

Men sizes are standardized and women's sizes are not. Women have to try on everything, where as once a guy knows his size he can pretty much wear anything in that size and therefore doesn't need to try it on(unless you just want to see how it looks but speaking for myself, if I've picked something out than I already want it and am trying to find a size that fits). It makes since to have more fitting rooms for women, if women use them more. Your frustration is logical though. If waiting lines for men are abnormally long than it's clear there's a need for more rooms. I would summit a formal complaint.
