The actual charges are "lewd and lascivious molestation", nine of them. Media doesn't make the definitions, and would be potentially facing a defamation case if they claimed it was rape.

In fact, from what I see of Florida statute, oral sex isn't ever defined as rape. Just like it's not in California.

(5) LEWD OR LASCIVIOUS MOLESTATION.— (a) A person who intentionally touches in a lewd or lascivious manner the breasts, genitals, genital area, or buttocks, or the clothing covering them, of a person less than 16 years of age, or forces or entices a person under 16 years of age to so touch the perpetrator, commits lewd or lascivious molestation.

It's only rape when the victim is female. If not in the media, in the minds of so many in society.

It's not just about rape. Society's false perceptions of males of all ages impact men in every facet of life. Keep in mind that police, judges, juries, politicians, managers, bureaucrats, school staff - OK, everyone - is a member of society and share the myths. We can suck it up, man up, walk it off and rely on our inherent toughness to shrug off discrimination.
