Yeah, I saw Purge comment on this. Regrettable in terms of his tone. Seems to basically dismiss that Men can be victims too, and said some of it was pattern based due to some of his own experiences with people being jerks to him when he was coming into the scene. In the case of the latter, I think it is a far leap from not being supportive of what is essentially competition in the field to rape.

That competitive element I think is probably what fueled some of the reaction to female casters as well. Valve seemed to be promoting them at TI over Male casters that had been active in the community longer and were generally more respected just because it looked good to have more women involved. While that is understandable to some degree, those female casters were essentially getting preferential treatment over their Male counterparts. That is a good way to breed animosity.

I like and respect Purge and Llama, who was implicated in this, but it is hard to say much without more details. I know the accused said he had a drinking issue and apologized he may have done wrong as a result. However, there didn't seem to be much evidence of actual sexual wrongdoing. The most I read about is one incident where a female was out drinking with him and other guys, for some reason seemed to react more to the alcohol than she expected, and woke up the next morning in a state of undress with the accused caster being nearby with his shirt off.

She hinted that she thinks she may have been drugged, but there is no proof. Nor was there proof the caster did anything. Maybe he did or maybe he didn't. She cannot remember, and there is a possibility she drank more than she thought anddid something out of character. However, without solid evidence it is really hard to say. So far all of it seems to amount to one bad circumstantial case, the fact that he grabbed one girls hand while possibly drunk, and whatever happened with Llama which hasn't been disclosed and could just be involved with him not liking her due to what he saw as favoritism and being protective of his space.

I am glad Purge did at least mention that these things can be messy, and it isn't always black and white. However, I think there is a huge step from what we know to him actually raping anyone. Just kind of a mess. Maybe there are more details I don't know about though. I am just solidly in the camp of innocent u til proven guilty on these sorts of things, and that someone being an asshole does not make them a rapist.
