Women are also far more likely to tell others about their suicide attempt(s). If a man has attempted a suicide and not been "successful", then he is, most likely, not going to tell anyone about it.

I would think girls might have much more to gain from appearing to attempt suicide in terms of the compassion and support they are likely to get, or think they would get. When men, at least men over 30, cry for help, we are much less likely to listen. If men had these options, they might "attempt" suicide more often (attempt in quotation marks, because if you did want to kill yourself, you would pick a method that works).

I wonder when feminists bring that statement up if they are talking about different women or if they include the same ones. A person who commits a successful suicide is unable to commit more attempts, but could have attempted more if they were unsuccessful the first time.

But of course the response that feminists show is an adversarial one. Rather than be compassionate and see that it is a real issue that men who are brothers, fathers, sons, etc. that are dying, they then respond by saying they have it worse. Typical.
