Yes I'm the "stepmom" but I've been the only mom he's ever really known and the only one at all since 2012. Our story has been told on different YouTube channels and received a lot of attention after posting. My main goal being to bring light to this very important issue.

So backstory. My husband didn't know where his son was for a couple of years, we found him abandoned with the grandparents before hubby shipped out and they again hid him so we filed for custody when we returned home from over seas. Bio mom was a druggy and wanted fugitive, grandparents were as well with a violent and drug related criminal record. A year and 3 months of fighting with the grandparents we were granted custody.

We've had full custody with a no contact order with the bio mom since he was 6, he is now 14 and wants nothing to do with her due to the neglect and abuse he grew up. The grandparents broke court orders, made him sick and took him to drug deals. Bio mom served less than a year of what should have been 20 yr sentence with 7 charges ranging in different counties, and was arrested less than 3 months of being out. She was arrested against Nov 2020, April 2021 and then in September on federal charges for mail fraud, identity fraud that took around 13 grand from elderly citizens.

We've spent several years advocating for Father's rights, helping with information, adminning FR pages locally and speaking with politicians and others to help change laws in our state so men won't pay for children that are not theirs. Then, out of the blue Bio messages us (Facebook is together to limit info to the public) last night claiming she's taking us to court for joint custody. Obviously I know there is no way, it was an attempt to get our approval to have contact with him but she's already lost custody to 3 other kids, 2 of which her rights were revoked. She has 0 rights with ours until she goes to court but obviously with 3 new and ongoing cases, and still wanted for violating parole on the previous charges there isn't any way. Yet I haven't slept and been obsessing over being able to protect our son.

We live in the middle of nowhere, our location is not public and couldn't be easily found but it's not the address from the court case, our son is in a different school and none of our social medias say where that is. I responded enough to let her know that she isn't to contact him, that we are finally able to have peace and that she can't exactly get custody or visitation while looking at around 10 years in federal prison and what else from the other charges.

The thought of going back into a court room for any of this almost paralyzed me. Y'all, it was the worst thing we ever went through and I suffer Fibromyalgia from the trauma of it all and helping him get through what he went through. Just need some encouragement please. She has bench warrants under advisement in 2 cases at least. Can anyone tell me how to look up federal cases for free?
