How much can men be blamed for FGM? And in particular, how much can they be blamed for the exact procedure of FGM? Can they be blamed for removal of clitoris that occurs in some FGM types, for example? Do men demand that FGM be performed in a specific way in order to take away their future wives' ability to experience sexual pleasure, as many claim? Do men know that removal of clitoris will supposedly reduce women's pleasure during sex and do they want it to be removed for this speciic reason?

Well, consider this:

You probably know what clitoris is. But, do you know what it its purpose and how big it's supposed to be? Did you always know? Did you know when you were 17?

Maybe you did. Probably not. What about your father, or even better, your grandfather?

THe thing is, men in countries where FGM is performed are kinda like your grandfather. They have probably seen one nude woman in their lives, and probably haven't spent too much time examining her genitals.

Most likely, they don't know what exactly clitoris is, how big it's supposed to be, what is its function, how will removal of clitoris impact a woman's sexual experience and so on. They don't know any of this.

Germaine Greer, a feminist, even admitted this:

when I’ve actually asked the men if they noticed the difference between women who are sub incised and women who are not, they don’t actually know what I am talking about. They’ve never actually looked.

So, men in those countries do not even know the most basic things about female genitals.

How on earth do they know what exactly needs to be done to female genitals in order to destroy a woman's sexual pleasure and make her supposedly obedient to her husband, as feminists claim the purpose of FGM is?
