Women's products are priced higher for several reasons. One is that they use pink dye which is more expensive, another is that they are often more complicated, and still another is that women are prepared to pay more due to the social stigma of paying less (a follow-on from hypergamy).

There are several possible outcomes here:

Men's products go up in price.
Stores stop stocking men/women's items that sell in lower numbers (avoiding the issue entirely)
Women's products stop being curved, soft-handled, 14 blades, made-with-absorbant-technology, etc.

I imagine that men will start to buy online, rather than in a store, as they can buy cheaper and with no restrictions.

I also imagine women will find something to complain about, like why their pads are now 4x the price since the only comparable product is an incontinence design for men which costs more...

Seems like a pretty toothless law. They can get around it if:

costs of items can be different if the price is based on how much time it takes to make the items, how difficult it is to make them, the “cost incurred in manufacturing,” “[t]he labor used,” [t]he materials used,” as well as “[a]ny other gender-neutral reason for charging a different price for those goods.”

So as long as a company has higher prices on a women's product for a legitimate business reason, and not just arbitrarily pricing women's products higher, they'll be fine. Even if a price increase is arbitrary, I'm sure any good business owner could identify differences to blame that a court wouldn't be able to dispute.

I honestly can't imagine a business ever being successfully prosecuted under this, even if they are guilty of it. Seems like political pandering.

As a hair farmer who has wire brush for a beard and been shaving since grade 9. I have a few tricks up my sleeve.

Your razor gets dull cause the surface becomes rusty. Get some 95% rubbing alcohol and when done shaving, rinse the blade clean with water then a small splash of the 95%RA onto the blade. Let dip dry by itself. My blade is approx 1 yr old and still sharp as the day I bought it. This trick works on cheep to very expensive razors of all colors and swear by this 100%
I use the lather sytle shaving cream with a brush to put onto my face. (While in the shower with a shower mirror) you must put the cover onto the lather when done or will dry out quick. I feel this makes shaving a bit easier as your wiskers are soft from the hot water and lather/brush combo.

This is actually a great law. So, if there is a legitimate difference between the men's and women's products, then this law does not apply. On the other hand it does ban selling men's products for more money than women's for no good reason. So, for those of you who live in California, find a place that gives women free drinks for Ladies Night, then ask for the same price as a man. This should now be illegal under the law.

So, I don't know that much about women's razors.

Men generally use razors for shaving facial hair off of their face and chin. This will be shaving a relatively small area with lots of curves and angles.

Women generally use razors for shaving legs. These will be relatively long surfaces with fewer edges/corners to navigate.

Does the difference in use case provide for actually different products, or is it just a different colored handle and some extra perfume?
