Was out for some beer with "friends" from work. A whole bunch from work. We talked about a lot of issues and then eventually landed on some gender issues. A few double standards were covered. We argued a little about a few things. How men are ribbed after a divorce for example.

So I decided to briefly present myself as an MRA. Saying we bring attention to issues men face legally and socially.

After that all the ladies got extremely antagonistic. One just said that MRAs were just trolls on the Internet and laughed at me(she is a feminist). I explained that's not true and talked about some of the issues men face(reproductive rights, family court bias and false rape accusations etc.) and then things really blew up.

I tried hard to explain that being an MRA is a legit and real thing. Explained some flaws with feminism with respect to advocacy for men's issues(the complete lack of it) and was just met with more and more anger.

Eventually some of the guys told me "hey dude, give it a rest about this MRA nonsense" and I just got enraged, but silently.

I decided to stop talking about it. After that I got to listen to feminism for hours on it felt like. The ladies took every cheap shot they could and I was laughed at. The feminist said things like "realy suicidebanana, MRAs are just sad bitter guys who want to beat their wives and not pay child support"

I got more and more pissed off, but pretended to laugh at all of it(in a ha ha good one you kind of way).

All in all it was just a huge mistake.

I think I probably shouldn't have said I was an MRA or brought up that at all. I was a little intoxicated and thought I were among good people. Boy was I wrong about that.
