Re. veterinarians, I read somewhere that there is a problem with the current preponderance of women in the field (ha ha), because they tend to specialise in small animals, so seemingly there is a consequent shortage of farm animal vets.

"Women are taking over the world. We just need a little bit of gender balance." Off with his head!

He did nothing wrong. I wonder why he chose to step down. Giving into SJWs complaints just encourages and empowers them, I wish he had held his ground and refused to give into this nonsense.

Look at Figure 1. There's a sharp decline in the number of female vets in higher age groups but that would be accounted for by, as he said, previously the field being dominated by men.

Look at Figure 2. Yes it looks like women are working fewer hours than men but not a mere 40% of them. The biggest gap we can see in that graph is in the 40-45 year age group and women still seem to be working about 75% of the hours of men.

Looking at Table 5 and the overall average, women are working 82% of the hours of men.

So his statement is not only questionably phrased, the facts don't support it.

In the Queen's Birthday Honours this year he was made an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit (ONZM) for services to agriculture.

So it's not just in Australia that these awards are a joke.
