For all those that say naming an alleged perpetrator encourages other women to come forward. There are far more innocent men named where no further action is taken than men prosecuted. Being falsely accused of rape is as bad as being raped. With modern media you can never get away from a false allegation. I hope he sues the women involved.

I think it's problematic that people frame this as potential perpetrator/potential innocent on the one hand vs. potential victim/potential innocent on the other. Accusing an innocent man of a serious crime is not an innocent thing to do. If an accusation is false, then the accuser is the perpetrator and the accused is the victim.

I agree with anonymity for accused, but please can we stop saying this is a priority - this reinforces the stereotype of the MRA just 'fighting' feminism.

Our priorities are more common and serious issues like suicide, homelessness and custody rights.

I really don't know how I feel about this issue. On one hand if you are innocent it will be incredibly difficult to remove that false rape allegation from your reputation.

However on the other hand people are named for investigative purposes. Rape is real and naming could bring forth more evidence, just like in any other criminal case.

In most egregious criminal cases however there is some type of early investigation to assist the state in deciding what to charge with. I don't see how this would be any different for rape, rather than running right out and calling them an "alleged" rapist collect some evidence and look at the facts first.

I'm sure this will be twisted into some kind of rape apology because "MRAs are literally rapists", but I don't think that anyone is asking for "secret courts" to protect criminals, just a littoe professional courtesy to protect those that are innocent. You know the whole "innocent until proven guilty" should still apply.

Actually, the accused should be identified. Also, the accuser should be identified, and the results of the investigation should be made public for several weeks before any decision is made.

Transparency. That's what the administration here says they want.

I would love if all people accused of any crime were not identified until found guilty of the crime - it seems like such a basic right.
