So very very true.

My wife complains that I out earn her because she went to University and I went to TAFE (community college). She stops short of blaming it on sexism but she complains nonetheless. I've explained to her 100 times over that it's her career choice that preventing her from earning more, just like it's my career choice that allows me to earn as much as I do. She still won't change her career or even specialise in her current field.

Plus historically anytime a woman and man spend time together, via dates or date like activities, men are supposed to pay, or basically can kiss any chances away. Plus women want men who make good money. They don't want no scrubs, remember?

The easiest way to debunk the wage gap is to remind people that they're pooling all men, like CEOs and brain surgeons, and all women, like retail workers and food service, and comparing the totals. It's bullshit.

With stuff like this, it’s hard to isolate all the factors. Why do women choose lower paying majors? Is it because they just aren’t interested in STEM? Is there sexism in colleges? Are they just not pressured to make so much money like most men are? The data is correct, but there are still a ton of variables that need to be accounted for.

I love my job. Yes it pays less and I have the privilege to live the life I live because my husband also has a job and makes more than me. I’d argue that some professions are not paid what they are worth. My job is still necessary. But I am not paid what I should be paid because people don’t value it.

I don’t think I get less because I am a woman. Male or female in my profession we get paid the same. I think it has to do with value and wage issues in general.
