How can she just not laugh about it. Some people really try the hardest to make it harder on themselves...

This is not a men's rights issue, this is a stuck up idiot vs common sense issue.

I would say that the guy is dealing with his adversity in a way that embodies the best attributes of masculinity.
Good PR for men & masculinity is pretty rare at the moment, so let's celebrate examples like this.
Or failing that, just have a much-needed laugh at it.

While this isn't exactly an MRA topic it isn't far afield. I think /u/theothermod should use this post as an example to follow in the crusade to clean up this /r and improve submission quality:
1) The title is clear and concise - each user has enough information to know if he, or she, wants to click and go further. 2) This posting shows a CLEAR distinction between a healthy and an unhealthy attitude presented to the world. Ms. OCD's obsessive compulsion appears to be that of searching for her victimhood in every nook and cranny. Whereas Mr. Amputee almost certainly suffered life changing loss from whatever took his leg he has accepted it as a fact of his life and turned it into a positive.
I propose all poorly titled posts, all "imagine if the genders were reversed", et c., follow Eric's fine example.
EDIT: fixed "where as"

Of course it's a men's rights issue. It's about how men deal with adversity and are generally ignored, versus how women deal with adversity and all of daytime TV talks about it. Assuming it's "daytime talk" time for you, turn on the TV right now. What are they talking about?

I'm watching kayaking.
[–]Revoran 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Well, he did have a lot more likes than she did. Not that two examples really say much.
[–]FernandoDeSoSo 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I dunno. The way she's handling it is certainly using the victim mentality that is so often used against men (e.g. making false allegations, self-segregation, female sexism, etc.).

Could be, but no proof here, feel like it's contraproductive to try and force it everywhere like this.

That poor girl! The government should give her money and force everyone to apologize to her and tell her she is beautiful and smart.

What do the bottom two captions say?
[–]Dembara 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Instagram posts. The guy says "shut up pussy you'll be fine" then (for the second picture) he says "What you fuckers thought I didn't buy it? Shiiiit..."

That guy is awesome! I hope he won the internet that day.

I just love her unnatural hair color and nose ring... They just scream, "Want to be miserable? Be my boyfriend!"
[–]Blutarg 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Indeed.

Not really men's rights. While I do think it is more common for men to cope in this way, I don't think it is uniquely masculine, nor is it a rights issue. Still an entertaining post.

It's more of a feminist/progressive vs MRA mindset kind of thing :)
[–]Dembara 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I don't think the former mindset is unique to feminists/progressives, though 90%+ with the mindset are such, and the latter certainly isn't unique to MRAs.
[–]NoFuryLikeKristine2 points 6 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link
No, the mindset was definitely not invented by them or is it unique to them, but they do train people to inherit that mindset. Or it attracts people who already think that way.
And then I think the MRM attracted the people who have the opposite mindset and recognized the harm that feminism is causing. I went from feminism to the MRM because I changed my negative victim mentality and recognized the same thing within feminist ideology.
[–]Dembara -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The former, definitely, the latter I'm iffier on. It attracts people who don't like the former, but it can also attract people with opposing victim ideologies.

Given that the vast majority of people probably have some kind of medical condition; if Christmas sweater logos not handling your unique disposition sensitively causes you anxiety, you either have your priorities fucked up massively, or you have an amazing life.

Well. Ocd, just like autism and ADHD are casualized too much and it really sucks for the people that suffer it.
Haha! I bet that guy could kick my ass.
