False rape accusations will only end when there are very real consequences to face for doing so. Make it a felony when it is proven beyond a doubt that the allegation was false. Prison sentence, permanent felony references for life, victim reparations (fines that have to be paid to the victim by both the false accuser and the justice system for each day/month of false incarceration plus additional fines if the victim is harmed while incarcerated) followed by mandatory education and rehabilitation upon release. When 'crying rape' literally ruins the lives of those that do it, then you can bet you'll see less of it.

So when a judge sends you to jail for rape, he's virtually signing your death sentence. And he knows it.

Can we please channel our anger in a productive direction? The answer to this is not to grab pitchforks and torches and hunt down this poor confused girl, it is to agitate for reform in the criminal justice system. The girl is to blame only indirectly for the indignity this man suffered for so many years. In another country an identical allegation could have been dealt with within the year. The real blame lies with the justice system, and with the government for failing to address these ridiculous delays.

This is just the worst kind of thing, i happen to know two people who have falsely been accused of rape and it absolutely tore there lives apart, one of them was still a minor at the time and in school and his name wasnt released in the press but the girl who had said she was raped because her mother found out she lost her virginity and wasnt too pleased with her daughter, well the girl told her friends about it so obviously the word got about school and you can imagine what sort of hell a teenager accused of rape would go through in school. its absolutely sickening and the falsely accused should be payed reparations i know money wont fix there reputation or the emotional damage theyve been through it would go a small way towards helping them being able to put there lives back together

Normally, I hate lawyers and I hate lawsuits, but this is a good example of where a civil suit is necessary. These men should sue this girl for everything she is worth. If the criminal system will not hold people accountable for false allegations, the victims have a responsibility to use the civil system to impose incentives against false allegations.

We've had this problem in this country for centuries (Salem witch trials) and it needs to be dealt with.
