Considering this story is seven years old, both women have served their sentences. I'm unsure on the second charge, but § 3-203 has a sentence of 10 years, and § 11-202, § 11-203, or § 11-208, are (1), (1), or (5) years each.

So if adults they would have gotten 11-15 years, but instead got 5 & 4. I agree they should have had the book thrown at them, but since both were tried as minors, I don't find the sentences unsurprising. I suspect they are typical.
