Any time you hear the word "patriarchy" used to describe the modern industrialized world, you're being lied to and swindled. Same thing with "privilege." Privilege comes from the Latin word privilegium which meant a "private law," such as the separate law (along with separate courts) available to the aristocracy versus the commoners centuries ago. Today the word "privilege" is exclusively used by people who are lying to you and trying to swindle you. It is a lie that men as a sex are the beneficiaries of "privilege" today. More than ever before in history, men as a sex are disadvantaged.

Anyone who would use these words in the context of the subject of your sexual assault is a bad and horrible person. You were right to be angry.

I've had that happen to me.

The thing to remember is that the sort of person who says such things doesn't matter. At all. They're nothing more than worthless trash. They see victimhood as some sort of defining element of a person. And in the end, they do nothing but cause further harm to victims.

I know it's difficult (and that you probably wouldn't mind running your fist through their face), but pay no heed to such people. Since they're utterly worthless, if they aren't already suffering a poor fate, they will be soon enough. Simply take heart in the fact that they're the type of person whose life will never amount to anything.

Just remember that the stigma is only perpetuated by people you wouldn't want to talk to anyway. And not just about male rape - about anything. Roll your eyes, walk away, and don't flatter them with your ire. Time spent seething over them is time that could be spent demonstrating why you're a better person.

I'm sorry that happened to you. The way male victims are treated is sickening, and feminism is largely the cause of this. According to feminist theory, rape is caused by "male privilege" leading to men to feel "entitled" to women. In reality, men are frequently victims sexual assault, but most feminists refuse to admit this because it contradicts their world view, so they insult and mock the very idea of male victims. This perpetuates the misandry that keeps male victims hidden.

I believe that the only way for male victims to be fully recognized is to fight against feminist misandry and fight for an egalitarian society, and the MRA movement is dedicated to doing just that. I think there will be less stigma once we defeat the feminists who marginalize male victims.

I understand, after being raped by a woman, I was laughed at by feminists. One of them called me, the victim a rape denier. This was to the support of people on facebook. I was laughed at and humiliated, by people that call themselves feminists.

This really doesn't hurt as much as the friend I have who is a feminist who took my side, but said that 'what they said and did wasn't something that actually happens.' So now the one friend I have who is a feminist and not screaming at me about it, denies that the majority of feminists do deny rape, or at least the ones in my life have.

I'm sorry that it happened to you, you aren't alone.
