The topic came up in another thread regarding gender privileges. I was told I "have the advantage of an unusual and interesting perspective" and referred here. Here is my original post with the most relevant information (it was made in response to a girl talking about things women have advantages with compared to men);

I wish it weren't so, but I can hands-down confirm this, especially the point about authority. You see, I'm a female now living as a man; before the social transition I experienced everything you reported and assume humans were nice in general. Thing is, people stopped being so nice to me when they thought I had a dick, and it was only after the transition that I got my first ticket (despite having been pulled over before- I was always given 'warnings.')

I'm genuinely afraid of physical violence more as a male, also. I went from "aw, she's in trouble and needs help" to "hey that guy is broken down on the side of the road- let's mug him and take his computer." Or at least that's how it feels.

Obviously most of the interest and talking points here revolve around my personal experiences with the positives and negatives of socially presenting as a woman vs. a man; both are telling in their own right about the differences someone could face with the main variable being presented gender, but if there are others I am always interested.

Disclaimer: I do not speak for all transgender persons, transsexuals, FTMs, females, etc. Also, being a lady had its downsides as well- if I remember them, I'll list side-by-side mirror disadvantages when they crop up.

Questions: I had questions in mind but they've slipped after my all-nighter. Will edit if they come back or are addressed in the comments- other than that I think I've covered everything. Sorry for the lack of organization.

EDIT- 10am USA Eastern time- and now, I sleep. Back in some hours.

7pm, awoken and fresh. Reaction upon returning. Not as small a subreddit as I thought! Will start with replies in other submissions, then top-bottom on this thread. Thank you for all having what seem like thought-provoking, sincere paragraphs
