I would say he's in the right. 12 is way to young. 16 is more of an appropriate age. However, I think he should of stood his ground and made his wife sleep on the couch.
[–]1LegendaryWombat 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Thats disturbing. I think while his reaction was a bit harsh, ultimately the sentiment i think is correct.
However after finding the thread, overwhelmingly people think he is in the wrong. However all the potential ones saying he was right have been removed, so who the fuck knows?
Aside from that it apparently was a fake, reposted from 2 years ago.

Thanks for letting us know.

That isn't a real story. It was something made up to get a reaction from people from a while ago. That sub is also terrible. Used to go there until you see that there is a very clear agenda.

Creepy leftist sexualizing of children at play. She shouldn’t even know what sexual toys are at twelve. This mother is a feminist and will happily convince her daughter to be a skank for the cause. This is not normal development since that doesn’t come with adult involvement unless they are a pervert.
[–]Standard_Rules_Apply 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Is it possible the daughter discovered these toys from somebody other than her parents?
[–]HungryBrain1 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Possible yes but since the mother is encouraging and supporting it it’s not just someone else.
[–]Standard_Rules_Apply 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
But you don't really know.

As a father of a 13yr old daughter. I would act the same way. Yes, its natural and everyone has done it. But, there is a time and place for things, i dont watch porn at work and she shouldnt be searching things like that when with me.
Not to mention, most of those sites at 18+, she shouldn't be on them at all.

My first thought about all this is if your wife disrespects you in front of your children, and/or overrides your decisions without having a conversation with you first, and/or has the idea that because of a quarrel you should sleep on the couch, well, you're thoroughly fucked. If there were no kids in the picture I'd say divorce her immediately, but since there are kids here the guy is in a pretty shitty position.
My second thought is this situation is the result of fucking up the education system by the LGBT crowd and progressives in general who force excessive "sex ed" on younger and younger kids nowadays. A 12 yo girl does not need sex toys by any stretch of the imagination, she probably shouldn't even know they exist. Humanity has survived for hundreds of thousands of years without giving 12 yo girls dildos or vibrators, I doubt that it would harm modern girls psychologically or otherwise if they can't order artificial wangs online. Try using your hands first, sweetheart, at least for a couple of years... Training yourself to react to specific stimuli produced by vibrators will probably lead to dissapointment later when you're unable to orgasm during natural sex with your boyfriend whose dick doesn't vibrate at precisely 27 Hz.
Lastly, this post points to a wider problem in our societies, namely that we're all swimming in a sea of debauchery and degeneracy, it's forced on us by sickos and ideologues who taint everything they touch, this is impossible to avoid and foolish to ignore. Fathers must fight against this with every ounce of strength they have, and the first step of that is to choose wives who are willing to be partners in this fight. The difference between your daughters turning into single mothers with many kids from many different fathers, or starting healthy families and raising decent kids of their own within those families, is how you raise them and how you protect them from the myriads of harmful influences pushed on them by the outside world.

I mean if I had a young child (male or female) they would probably masturbate around that age and that‘s okay, but letting them buy a sex toy is too much for that age imo. I don‘t care if it‘s a dildo or a sex doll, it‘s wayy to young so hell nah. So yeah, Reddit telling him he‘s the asshole is dumb and making it into a sexism issue is just even crazier.

what i reacted at was the mother's actions
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I definitely think he's right. He said that he wouldn't buy a toy for his son either, so he isn't being sexist at all, despite what the legions of feminists in that thread would like to say. Nothing wrong with masturbation, but buying someone a sex toy when they are 12 is what I'd call quite inappropriate. Doesn't matter who it is.

I feel he went too harsh on his daughter. This is part of the development of an adolescent. However, he should have warned her to be more careful about this. Of course, there is a time and place for everything, and she should know that.
[–]theferrit32 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah I agree. I understand his revulsion to to the idea but this is a more healthy option that attempting to be overly restrictive of a perfectly natural development process. I think he overreacted and should have been more graceful. For example asking her what she was doing and asking the mother if she was aware of this. However on the other hand, the mother should obviously have discussed this with the father. They are both the parents and should have discussed this sort of thing beforehand, which would have helped to prevent this sort of clash.

I know that much and, since I’m not omniscient, no I don’t know for sure. Well done figuring that out.

1) That sub is awful.
2) That post was a fake IIRC.
[–]Mackowatosc 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
12 year old? yeaaaah, "A bit" early for that. I'd check with a counselor for any signs of abuse, btw.
[–]dukunt 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
If it was his 12 year old son looking at porn he probably would have been more understanding. We're all human. We all have sex drives. She was looking at dildos. Big deal. If she was looking at websites trying to join Isis well then I would be concerned. I doubt that she will hurt hurtself or anyone else with a dildo.

but boys don't usually look up sex dolls on the internet at 12
[+]Stakitawoof1 points 4 years ago [recovered] (2 children) | Copy Link
sexual pleasure is normal part of development and this father I am guessing he masturbated once in his life so he should no what he means
[–]ItsLuke911 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
guess i need a fleshlight then at 12
[–]14b755fe39 -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The dad over reacted IMO, I don't mind masturbation at all, I would promote it, she should enjoy her sex drive, but just talk to her that and tell her to be careful, regular sex may not be as stimulating as fancy vibrator.
