There are 60,000 candidates every year in Norway, but only about 8,000 are drafted. Up to 20 percent of them are women.

Err...

If I'm reading that correctly, Norway has implemented "gender-neutral" conscription, but over 80% of the people actually drafted are men.

This isn't "tinfoil hat logic," I'm looking at the ACTUAL POLICIES of other countries which have gender-neutral conscription. Since Sweden mandated drafting women at the same time as they stopped actively drafting people in 2010, they've never actually put their gender-neutral policies into effect. Unless you have a source stating that male and female candidates will have an equal chance of being drafted, and that they will have equal terms of service, this is the best evidence available, and it points towards a nominally gender-neutral system that still places most of the burden and risk on men.

Did I say you have to follow my faith? This is just a statement of belief. I thought the Men's rights movement was a large umbrella of people varying opinions with tradtionlists on one side of the spectrum and MGTOW on the other extremist side. If disregard then the wisdom of the past then you are as stupid as the most rabid third wave feminist.

We only really been keeping stats like that since the mid of the 20th century, so we can't know the happiness levels of the generations before that, unless you ask people who were alive then and unfortunately they are falling to the ravages of time and old age. Femmism is toxic and I believe we can all agree to that. Who will carrying the burden if the world if not us men? Should we allow thousands of years of human civilization to collapse because we refuse to take our place as the leaders if the world.

Certainly not me. You feel free to do as you must but I need women like a fish needs a bicycle. I understand that it's not that simple for straight men but I think many of them are starting to realise that they're better off focusing on themselves, that they have intrinsic value in spite of thousands of years of human evolution and civilization telling them that their only worth comes from what they can give others. I for one am happy to see my straight brothers enjoying life, spending their own money, pursuing their own hobbies and putting themselves first.

Civilisation is not going anywhere. I agree that the current status quo is not sustainable, but the thing about the status quo is that it tends to change. One thing I know for certain is that is that there's no putting the genie back in the bottle---when Saudi Arabia starts letting women drive you know the world around you has become a very different place.

There are definitely many, many problems with the modern West. Social atomisation, single mothers, runaway female entitlement, dangerously low fertility levels etc. etc. But the solutions to those problems won't be found in the past. How would you even do such a thing when women are the majority of voters in the US and even most men would disagree with you? Also, is there even such a place for a guy like me in your utopia? Traditionalist societies are effective because of the power of conformity---there's no doubt that they work but they also cause a lot of suffering to those people that can't fit in. I much prefer the current ideals of radical individualism to the alternative.

I'll follow your statement of belief with one of mine: I am a transhumanist, if you've heard about us---we're all over Silicon Valley and in the tech companies currently shaping the world. We believe in using technology to radically alter the human condition and the reason why Alphabet has a branch currently researching how to cure aging, the reason behind the Artificial Intelligence resurgence etc. This has nothing to do with the Mens' Rights Movement but the reason I'm sharing this with you is because I believe the reports of the demise of Western Civilisation are greatly exaggerated. We've got a few cards yet to play.

Jury duty arguably is. It is forcing you to engage in labor for the benefit of the master (in this case, the state).

Income taxes are something different - you are only required to pay taxes if you earn money using the legal benefits and framework of the state in which it is earned.

Which, everybody who earns the money in the state does.

For other taxes like property taxes for instance, you are paying for the protection of the state in the related transaction. Property taxes you pay for the state to respect your claim to the land. Sales taxes reflect the protection of the business environment these sales take place in.

So taxes do not equal slavery. Jury duty, however, might. However, jury duty is a slavery that is gender neutral, rather than being explicitly gendered.

Yes and what happens if you are accused of a crime and want to exercise your right to a trial by your peers? All rights automatically incur a responsibility somewhere else. Rights do not exist in a vacuum. If you don't want the responsibility then give up the rights. Let some unelected politically appointed judge decide whether or not to throw you in jail or not.

The same goes for conscription. If you hate your culture and country so much that you are unwilling to do anything when the Russians come, then don't live there. Conscription is the only guarantee that your country can continue to exist in the face of an outside threat. When leftists rail against conscription it cracks me up (not implying any political orientation on your part, here). They are always all about doing things collectively. Until it comes to war. Then they'd rather just let the poor people fight in the "professional" military.

The government can hire them. I mean, I have rights to lots of things that don't necessarily require slavery to enforce them.

As an example (steering clear of jury duty and military), I have a right not to be subject to unreasonable search and seizure. In order to enforce that right, judges are required to make rulings on what constitutes an unreasonable search. Yet, we've never drafted judges - we offer payment and they come.

Well, I don't deny the class effect of a professional military. It's just better than the alternative - which is a form of slavery. I'm not even arguing that it's an unnecessary slavery in all circumstances, but it's still slavery.

... I think you're kind of missing the entire point of a jury by your peers. The government hates you and accuses you or your favorite opposition political candidate of spying. You're comfortable with them choosing who decides your/his fate? Trial by jury is important. It's not some trivial procedure. It's in the Bill of Rights.
