There isn't a problem with the wages themselves. People barter and negotiate for their wages and that is a fair way of doing it (remember the shit storm that followed when Pao wanted to do away with negotiated wages within reddit's poisitions because women are apparently so bad at it?).

The issue is false perception that women are still making less than men, that women need to be placed into jobs (usually fetch, interesting jobs, not a coal miner, ect), and that women need extra help to equalize what ever illusionary pay gap there is.

Sure, all of you can be all pissy, or you can see that out of the 340 CEOs they looked at, only 17 were female with 10 of them probably being the top 10. Might just be me, but that sounds like it can throw off the numbers.

Oh come on. CEO compensation is la-la land to begin with and even then, add up all the male CEO compensation and compare it to all the female compensation. Good for whoever negotiated more in any situation but this isn't an MRA issue at this level!

If you look at the companies in which the female CEOs work, you find Yahoo, TJX (TJ Maxx, Marshalls, etc.), Hewlett-Packard, Pepsico, General Dynamics (aerospace/defense contractor), IBM, Lockheed Martin (defense contractor), Archer Daniels Midland, Mondelez International (used to be Kraft), and DuPont. It seems that when women are willing to make sacrifices to become a CEO, they go for big fucking names. Makes sense right? With the idea that women value their free time more and are less willing to be locked into the schedules that ambitious men lock themselves into to make it up the ladder? If a woman is going to put in enough effort to become a CEO, it's gotta be at a place where it's hella worth it to be the CEO.

Is this actually referring to the median rather than the average? Because medians are stupid and worthless. 99, 99, 10, 10, 10 the median is 10. 15, 15, 15, 1, 1 the median is 15.

As for explanations, I'd venture a guess that lots of boards are being pressured to introduce quotas. The more visible IE richer companies get a lot more publicity, and a lot more pressure to introduce such quotas, and thus women ceos are disproportionately pushed towards the higher echelons of pay.

Out of 340 only 17 were women, with 10 being the top 10 earners. On top of that, median not average, completely useless when looking at useless stats like these.
