Let's see. What is the one method men could've used to stop this? Violence. What typically happens to men who use violence against women for any reason? The legal system bends them over. The men did the right thing by not getting involved. Not worth it. Men don't owe women they don't know any kind of protection. Men should not risk their own safety or freedom for women they do not know. Even if men were the attackers, the male bystanders have no obligation to help.

You can’t have your cake and eat it too. Men are regularly and systematically called “violent” “animals” “toxic” etc whenever they step out of line in any arena.
