No, it isn't the left. It is the establishment. Whenever someone is in power, they naturally want to stay within power. This leads to them trying to stifle discussion, which leads on to the Streisand effect, which means an upswing in the opposite side of the politics. Then this little circle repeats, as the other side enters the power and now wants to stifle discussion.
