I work for a Fortune 100 Health Insurance company and I suggested that we quickly throw something together for Prostate Cancer Awareness Month (September). My suggestion was immediately co-opted by women and "men" at work that suggested that we only focus on the African Americans impacted by Prostate Cancer. When I said that we should identify as men first and foremost it was dismissed, and women at work started throwing in other types of cancer and saying that we should focus on influenza and other conditions instead of Prostate Cancer. I was skeptical of the need for MRAs at first but after this "trial balloon" I am very worried. Do any of you have suggestions on how to deal with it?
