i mean in the UK at least the reason abortion was legalised is because of men. a man submitted a bill into parliament and then men voted to pass it into legislation. if men stayed out of it this would never have happened.

When women say "Men are all violent, men are all X, men are all Y", we quickly and rightfully say "Do not categorize all men into one homogenous being"

The same argument should be made here. Not all women are saying "no uterus, no voice". Do not allow the insane vocal minority to cloud your judgement.

Providing legal bodily autonomy to women and men is paramount to a successful society. We should fully support women's rights and defend them by voting accordingly.

With all due respect, do you mean refrain from expressing opinions rather than voting? At least from where I'm from, there is no specific public voting for women's health issues.

That said, I believe that any individuals should be eligible to express their perspectives regarding public policies. For example, male-only conscription is practiced in my country, and women are involve in national surveys concerning conscription.

I also think that’s a slight misreading of the sentiment. The idea is not “if you don’t have a uterus you can never vote on reproductive rights” but rather “those without a uterus/ability to get pregnant/etc should not vote for laws that restrict the choices available to those who do have the ability to get pregnant.”

So the point is you shouldn’t remove this kind of agency from another person, especially when you yourself cannot get pregnant.

I think this still allows for everyone, whether they get pregnant or not, to support reproductive rights at the polls.

Radical Feminists are misguided. If anything, you should feel pity for them; not hatred or disdain. Just because we men have issues some refuse to acknowledge and help change, doesn't mean we have to make it worse for others. Most women, while skeptical, are responsive to hard facts (that's assuming they're normal and NOT hardcore radical feminist.) So if you support it and would vote otherwise, then don't let it hold you back. Do it. Things won't change until we start supporting each other and someone has to do it first

I do. I live in Kansas. All these women at work were saying vote no for abortion legislation, I didn't vote at all. The bill didn't go through.

I support abortion anyway, because at the end of the day, you're trusting women to carry a fetus 9 months, relying on her to be a good parent, ect. Let us not forget that even though the girl escapes accountability, the man would escape financial accountability too.

As a woman, I would love men to have a say, provided that they do research and form their own opinions freely but unbiasedly (basically, don't be sexist when forming your opinion). Idc what you have under your pants, as that shouldn't matter.

If they want equality, then they will get it. If the bill doesn't include the men's parenting side, I won't vote for it. Sure I might agree that a woman can terminate her parental rights with an abortion, does the bill include a man's right to end being a parent as well? If not. It won't get my vote.

The VAST majority if women do not want the state to take away their reproductive choices. There's your first clue. It's not a stretch to wrap your head around the idea that when they say 'men should keep their opinions on women's reproductive choices to themselves', they're talking about men who think it's okay to take that choice away. That is the default here.

Try asking this question in the feminist group. You'll get a serious education.

My assumption here is anything in this category would have something to do with our tax dollars funding it. If that's the case...

I'd love to see the federal government require that all taxpayers list their biological sex from birth. Then they can establish a pool of how much money has been paid in by men vs women. Whenever there's an issue that would explicitly benefit only one of the two sexes (e.g. free tampons), then tax money would ONLY be pulled from that tax source.

I personally would love to see how fast the women's side of tax dollars is emptied out by comparison.

History is full of people shunning those who should be their natural allies. Often when that happens both groups are shooting their feet because expanding basic rights for one group is generally a win for others. For example, while the civil rights movement is often framed as a movement to get rights for black people in the US, many other groups in the US benefited from the expanded rights. That included individuals who opposed civil rights.

For many women's health issues, allowing the government to restrict them on the basis of religion or outright ignorance opens the door to them eventually discriminating against men on the same grounds.

Whenever I hear women in the U.S. say that men should have no say in women’s reproductive choices I happily remind them that an all-male SCOTUS gave them abortion rights while a SCOTUS with women took them away. All voting is an act of violence, because it's an attempt to point the government, a violent institution, in some direction. Cast your vote as an act of self defense, to try to point that violence away from as many people as possible. What that means specifically will depend on your specific philosophy.

Women have not demanded silence. They have demanded that a man doesn't get a say in a woman's body.

Saying 'no uterus no opinion' means if you don't have a uterus you shouldn't get a say in what happens in women's bodies.

But Voting for abortion rights is not an opinion on what happens in women's bodies. It's an opinion that women get to make their own choices.

Getting offended that women want to control their own bodies and spiteful not supporting them in the abortion debate because of a sloga you've heard some women say is petty and childish.

Even if it wasn’t, potentially no it’s not hypocritical. You should have been treated as someone to persuade when you approached her in her area of expertise. But potentially she just couldn’t be fucked explaining all of the shit to you that day. The problem can be rectified. Just ask your question now. If she cares she will persuade you to vote.
