To clarify, I'm only taking this class because it satisfies a few GE requirements.

Today, we were on the topic of sexual abuse in the work place. One girl told a story about how, when she had just started a new job, all her new male coworkers oogled at her, and one "called dibs." The room (mostly women) droned with a hiss like sound, saying things like "we're not property" or "you can't own us."
After a brief lull, one woman in the back of the room admitted that's what her and her coworkers do to new male coworkers. This time, the room erupted in a prideful roar, each girl telling how they do the exact same thing.
It irks me to no end how these relatively small double standards present themselves almost everyday.

Oh, and the girl with the first story ended up dating the guy who called dibs on her.
