An article on Woke Father mentioned how there's a link between men, toxic masculinity, and things like competitiveness, sports, self-reliance, and aggression.

Comparable traits in women would be things like social dominance, partying, manipulation, and gossiping.

Verbal skills make it easy for a person to manipulate and bully others, but does that mean verbal skills are toxic? No, and telling girls that their love for words is toxic would cause more harm than good.

You can argue that these differences between men and women are social or biological all you want. But if we went around telling women that their social acuity and other feminine traits around speech were toxic features of being a woman, I think they would neutrally feel attacked by it.

Men and women are different. Even if you buy into blank slatism, that is the practical reality of the world we live in. So until (or if) we manage to remove gender from society completely, a healthy respect for both men and women is warranted.

And no, not all women are social butterflies, and not all men enjoy watching sports. Most people are somewhere in the middle. But these traits are common to men and women. And most men and women understand they are being spoken about in these conversations about gender in society.
