It was actually never a thing that women were specifically targeted by acid and boiling water attacks.

It's just that when it happened to women it got more attention.

It's another example of something not gendered being turned into a "women's issue" while male victims get erased and marginalized.

In fact I think some stats show that it happens to men slightly more than it does to women. Which really just adds insult to injury.

Throwing Acid someone is seen very big crime in Bangladesh. Punishment is 14 years in prison /death. But It's only for Men. No women with execution order is killed (Because female privilege)/if you are women you can also apply for bail because of your gender.

Few days a ago a Famous female singer name Mila threw acid in her ex husband’s(ex fighter jet pilot- air force officer - very respected job) face with the help of her assistant. Having enough evidence Against her wasn’t enough to put her in jail. Previously she filed fake case Against her husband where he has to spent few months jail and lost his job & found innocent in court

If a men threw acid in any Women/girl's face he would sent jail for 14 years without bail or get execution

I got an acid burn on my hand for like a couple minutes in an area smaller than a pencil eraser with relatively mild acid for eating away at a giant wart.
