Douglas Gosse, a professor of education at Ontario’s Nipissing University, says the fear of false accusations is a major reason why fewer men are becoming teachers. “I think it does inhibit a lot of people from entering the profession,” he said.

If you combine the fear of false accusations together with the general lack of respect society gives the profession, it's not hard to understand why men are looking elsewhere for employment.

I could be a teacher if i wanted, when i graduated university they even gave a bonus to be a teacher because there were so few physics teachers.

Its career suicide for one, teaching for 10 years means you cant really do anything else, you don't work with adults instead annoying children and the pay and social recognition is crap, oh and potentially you can end up in jail because of some teen drama bullshit.

No sane man would ever pursue such a career in my eyes. Give me adult professional career jobs every time.
