What are your thoughts on the bagel guy video?

The guy isn't wrong and a lot of the comments are pretty shameful.

I can only assume that an employee made a comment to him or laughed about his height and he just lost it. I don't think it's a coincidence that the bagel place, and every single article I've seen, fail to mention why he went off on a "misogynistic" rant and what he actually said before the video starts to prompt the "...degrading to women" comment the video begins with.

Are we to believe he just wandered into the store and started shouting at people with no provocation?

I can't blame him for blowing up like that. He shouldn't have started threatening to fight the white knights that showed up but that doesn't justify him being tackled to the floor. It's also convenient that the tackler apparently just left afterwards. He probably realised he could get charged if he stuck around when the police arrived.

He should've just asked to speak to the manager to make a complaint about the employee instead of blowing up.

The double standards are incredible. If this was a black guy going off on racists, a woman going off on sexists, or even an overweight person going off on people making fat jokes then the comments and the reception of the video would be completely different.

Everybody has a breaking point. People can only take so much humiliation and ridicule before they break. Some people are fortunate enough to never be subjected to the humiliation and ridicule that gets them to their breaking point. That wasn't the case for this guy.

And everyone deals with that breaking point differently. Some lash out with angry words like this guy did. Some become hermits who rarely leave the house and have no social life. Some would breakdown and start crying in the fetal position in the middle of the bagel shop. Some who are mentally unstable turn to acts of horrific violence and mass shooting.

One of the lessons here (amongst others) is to be kind to your fellow humans because everyone is facing their own challenges. We don't see what set this guy off, but we can pretty much conclude that he didn't start ranting because everyone was being super kind to him.

Nope, someone (perhaps multiple someones) did something that set him off. Something that got him to his breaking point. The guy has problems and needs help. But so does the person who pushed him to this point.

Dudes name is out there, been looking at some of his youtube vids. I like the guy, he seems like a blast to hang out with.

In the short time since the bagel thing he has been canonized over in braincels, and shall forever be known as 'Saint Bagelcel', the whole internet is talking about him and he may actually have displaced Bell Daphine as the 'freak of the week'.

So, he is getting a lot of hate for his height, but from his perspective I gotta guess that feels like a regular Tuesday, it may actually BE a lot more hate than he usually gets, but to a guy like that it's like 'infinity plus 1' so basically no different.

All hail Saint Bagelcel, I wont post his name here but it will live in my heart for all time.

People like what they like. I understand you can't do anything about height, but sometimes you're not dealt a good hand. A guy born blind or deaf or has some kind of disease where he can't walk has issues also and they're beyond dating. Sometimes life sucks and things aren't fair that doesn't mean you can be an a**hole.

I also wonder if he can't get a date or has his own preferences. I'm a volcel. I'm celebrate by choice because I'm not interested in any of the women who are interested in me. That happens when you turn 50, you're middle class, and you still want to date a 7 or higher. I know there are options. I could lower my standards. I could date a woman with kids or one looking for a green card, etc. I'm not seeing that as worth it at least to this point. What I don't do is blame other people for it.
