I appreciate your kindess, although remember that these witch hunts also happen when the man has done nothing wrong and without any kind of proof or evidence whatsoever.
Empathy for someone guilty is a very high and admirable virtue, but empathy for the innocent should be the norm at a fundamental level, this basic level of dehumanization is what needs the more attention i think.
Feminism is not just fighting violence with violence as you said, feminism is sacrificing innocent good men that have hurt noeone by taking away the ''innocence until proven guilty'' fundamental right from men, its weaponizing false accusations that evil women can use to extort manipulate bully and destroy innocent men at their will if they know how to act and lie for their own benefit.

You speak as if people ever had "empathy" for men. "Empathy" has always been reserved for females, be it victims or aggressors.

And the truth of the matter is these events are ways for people to feel a sense of power and control over another person, very much like a rapists motivation.

They’re an excuse to attack someone, not really connected to what they’ve done.

With how you’ve acted you’ve shown you don’t have the mentality of a rapist: the desire to hurt and control.

Sadly many don’t feel the same way we do, and look for excuses to hurt people, especially if they perceive some sort of social gain from it.

For example, a man who hunts down a “sexual abuser” and attacks him is doing it for himself, not out of any real sense of justice or protecting victims. He wants to be viewed by someone else as a person who would do this. Often he’s just trying to get laid or props from his social group.

Likewise, women who exaggerate or entirely fabricate stories of sexual abuse are doing the same thing. They want to be viewed as someone valuable enough to be attacked, and to have their white knights swoop in giving them attention, validation, and a massively inflated ego. The more harm inflicted on her victim, the greater the sense of her personal worth by implication. They pretend the violence is “proportional” or “justified” because it makes her seem valuable enough to justify it.

So, tl;dr it’s stupid monkeys being sadistic stupid monkeys, and it’s actually more rare to not act in this abhorrent fashion.

Edit: oh and the answer to the empathy question is never. It’s getting worse.

Religion was invented to give people a sense of fear of all knowing consequences to try and get them not to behave this way, and that societal wide indoctrination barely worked. Now women’s gossip is amplified exponentially by the internet, as well as the harms it causes, but the old systems meant to keep the sadism in check have been disconnected from women, so there are no longer consequences for this behavior. They do it with impunity, for laughs.

You’ll probably run into the concept of the empathy gap for men diving into this, and that’s a real hard look at humanity you may not want to acknowledge.

If someone sexually abused you, I have no sympathy for them experiencing this. The problem is, of course, that bullies and others of poor character can just use this as the ultimate in bullying. Even threatening to do it is bullying of the worst kind.

This is the thing that the “believe all women” crowd never deal with. And that’s the fact that they weaponise the worst of us. They are in absolute denial that malicious women exist.

Sorry, but something seems off with your post, especially for the fact that your account is only 1 day old and you put out this post where you seem like the purest person ever who doesn't want even her perpetrator to be punished. Also, empathy is dying, yes, but not empathy towards perpatrators. Perpatrators need consequences and they need to be punished if they did something really awful. BUT we should instead have empathy towards innocent men, towards men who are lonely and have no support, towards men who are working so hard to become someone. Those men deserve empathy, not perpetrators.

I'm female and experienced sexual abuse, but I would never wish that the person who did this to me should suffer.

I do not wish someone who violates me to suffer, for him or her to not be able to live a life, to never find a job again, to be shamed and excluded by the public, family and friends.

Can't help but think that you are just a feminist concern troll making this thread to bring out the white knights of this sub, and get them say how the men who wronged you should "rot in jail", "be beaten to death", "should burn", etc. Basically trying to invoke misandry within this sub.

Unironically I think it will happen either a few decades after some collapse if things normalise again or in the future when all needs are met and there is no real advantage in being a liar or scummy

I've never been sexually abused long term, but I have been sexually assaulted and I have experienced pedophilic teachers especially when I was the only female taking on computer studies at the time of high school.

It's not about empathy and kindness, I am kind to those around me and I can guarantee they all will take advantage of it one way or another. People are like this. And at the time, I did not want to say anything.

One friend did it and pleaded with me not to say anything and I didn't.

Another never acknowledged it at first and then did some mental gymnastic to make me think it was my fault and that he would be the victim if people though he was "a creep". I didn't say anything again.

I wish I would have because it's not about giving it back, it is rightful punishment and depending on the crime will decide the severity. The only thing I disagree with is if their whole life was ruined for minor sexual harassment because I believe that they probably could be welcomed back and become better.

But to think that these people don't get that punishment that they need so they can understand and learn sickens me because by doing this you are letting them go out and do it again, they will take advantage of your kindness.

What's also wrong is to carry out punishment where its not confirmed, because that is life damaging and should not happen. We can not believe the case without hearing it in full and acknowledging the real victim.

I can also agree with research because it's an issue but we seem to not be doing anything to prevent the individuals from committing it or studying how to do so.
