I've been following Anna Akana for something like 10 years. I haven't watched a lot of her stuff in the past 5 or so but have recently been suggested a couple by you tube.

Anna Akana was never really big on sexism etc. in her videos, at least when I watched the majority of what she put out, but definitely a feminist in the casual sense.

In some of her latest videos however though she has been going into men's issues, particularly on a video where she talks about a trans man's experience of being male. Now her thinking on the issue is still rooted in terms of patriarchy etc. but she is questioning her own assumptions and actually trying to empathise with men! It only took a transman to point out female privilege for her to first question if female privilege is even a thing but it's still progress, the tide is turning.

Anna Akana seems like a nice person and open to critical thought in any case. She's a good and talented vlogger.

Edit: just finished the linked video, it's a good one. Seems like a cool guy

all her video proves to me is that men are telling women their problems but they refuse to listen until it personally affects them.

she admits that her male friends were telling her these things fot literal years but she just dismissed them.

so much for the "empathetic gender.
