Not all that surprising really..At this point we should consider it a win that she even got 7.5 years as it is..

Its still fucking disgusting how lenient that is in respect to the very real damage she did.. Also should have been 12 years as a beginning point (Adding 60% on to account for the fact that men get 60% longer sentences on average)Not only that but I suspect she will be out on parole in 2.5 - 3 years..

Edit: yep she got released after only 3 years.. seems absolutely fair to me..

And I laugh when she can't even front up to court but has the gall to claim that she "Feels remorse"No, she fucking does not! She feels guilt over the fact that she got caught, that is completely different to remorse.

If she felt ANY remorse at all for what she had done, she would have gotten him hospital treatment earlier and would have sought help for her anger / violence issues.Sure would be nice if we had a model of domestic violence that was gender neutral so that men like Alex can get help and not wind up as yet another statistic.

What really burns me up is, this is yet another example of the violence of women being brushed aside and feminists will defend this by calling it "An isolated case / incident" or they will point out "She DID get a prison sentence" while ignoring the fact that it was a paltry sentence considering what a man would have gotten had the genders been reversed.

Finally they most likely would do their best to claim that this woman is the TRUE victim here and that society pushed her into this or some shit like that while also shitting on the actual victim using victim blaming tactics like "Why didn't he seek help!?" or "He's a man he should have been able to fight back!" Ignoring the fact that this plays into the "Toxic Masculinity" they are always harping on about..

Now, to be clear to the feminist concern trolls that are lurking, IF the genders were reversed here and a man only got a 7.5 year sentence for doing this to a woman I would be equally pissed at the leniency of the sentence.Violence on this level NEEDS to be stamped out and the PEOPLE (Not men, not women, PEOPLE) responsible need to be held accountable for what they have done.

She got 7 years for stabbing, scalding and isolating her bf. She was released after 3 years.

If any of you are or ever have been subject to domestic abuse (or are otherwise interested in a particular case study of an incident of male suffered domestic violence), I would recommend watching it. The train of thoughts and actions that Alex undertakes are what often happen with abuse victims (male or female). The denials that anything's going wrong, willingness to take blame for injuries and inability to tell authorities (hospitals and police) what they need in order to help him for fear of the repercussions. "I was always thinking: "How would she react?"".

Most significant part about the final stages is from about 31 minutes onwards. Major props to PC Sgt Ed Finn for recognising what was happening, and making a serious and personal effort to get through to Alex and help him come clean about what was happening to him (36:30 onwards). It may sound simple, but there was a depth of sensitivity and care for the wellbeing of his fellow human being that made the difference.

For those not in the UK, it's worth noting that most sentences are half-served in prison, with the remainder served "on license" (on probation). So in real terms her "very lenient," but not "unduly so" sentence is cut further and she was released this year.

There is a final comment I want to make though. Let me be blunt. Watching that documentary. The blunt force trauma he suffered. The stab wounds, the boiled flesh and peeled skin. I find it unlikely that the courts would have let him off with 3.5 years if he had done similar to her, because he'd be seen as a sheer monster. She nearly killed him, and what didn't kill him was horrifying enough as it is. She plead guilty to her crimes. And yet (45:00 on the documentary): "Her sentencing day, there was no sense of remorse, "I'm sorry", the only thing the judge did say was Jordan doesn't blame Alex for anything that she did to him." Just... incredible, how far backwards do we bend to try and force the narrative of the man being the root cause of the violence, even when the assailant herself confesses to her actions?

Why even bring that up? Because of how dismissive and outright hostile to the very idea people are. Alex is an ambassador for charity "The Mankind Initiative", a support group for men. So of course the main results on reddit (from the usual subreddits) are plenty of speculation about how "problematic" this organisation must be and BS about them releasing fraudulent videos (because they filmed at two different times, and edited the footage together (which proves they're lying apparently). And because Erin Pizzey (The horror!) is a patron. That's it).
