Are you surprised that the divorce rates in today's society are so high? Well you shouldn't be because historically marriage only worked because of religion. Living in a godless society today, there is no religion. Hence why the vows read before the marriage are merely lip service and people never keep them.
Rather, they indulge in their irreligious like ways, where men and women share multiple partners over their lifetime. This is not uncommon in the animal kingdom and the evolutionary chain.
However, religion attempts to make us greater and more civilised than animals and hence why it imposes all these laws upon us like faithfulness and exclusivity in marriage instead of everyone sleeping with everyone.
But because religion is gone, traditional values and marriage is also gone and we have basically become a hookup culture society. This is not surprising at all.
