As many know, marriage rates are plummeting in the US and other nations.

Red Pill and MGTOW gurus are often portraying marriage as a desperate goal for women and present a scenario where older women end up depressed and alone because they didn't get married when they had the chance. Meanwhile, older, unmarried men are portrayed as winners or at least in a much better place than their female counterparts.

However, is this really true anymore? Once upon a time, it was a great stigma to be a single old woman, but nowadays it's more normalized and even celebrated in some circles. Sure, depression rates among women are high, but men are still more likely to kill themselves at all ages. When I look at unmarried women in their 30s and 40s they don't all look that desperate and unhappy to me. They have their jobs, their friends, they attend yoga classes etc.

Are unmarried women really that miserable compared to unmarried men? Or are both in a pretty bad place?
