I’ve seen a lot of men argue that them “cheating” is not them being “disloyal” because they are wholly committed to their union and family.

To use a pop culture example from House of Cards, for a while Claire and Frank seemed very loyal to their union despite extramarital affairs. Though I posit these two had an understanding so no covenant was actually broken.

For example one of my best friends feels that he will have proven disloyalty by breaking his vows to remain faithful to her despite how much he thinks he’s committed to never leaving her. Fidelity means a lot to her. If he were to break that. He’d be disloyal.

Thoughts? Do you all view loyalty and fidelity as different or one in the same.
