CMV: Most men, for the most part don't have much of any standards, they have preferences. Women have standards and preferences and that is something I admire very much.

Most men just take whatever they can get, men will always claim they have standards but, when push comes to shove you see them dating a single mother with 3 kids from 3 different men, you see them dating a fat woman, you see them dating a woman who has slept with the entire neighborhood. Men rarely ever put their money where their mouth is and actually maintain any semblance of standards. Men just have preferences. Men are like, "I'd prefer a woman who has dark hair over blonde hair, who is thick instead of real think, who is tall instead of short". Men don't really have standards.

I work in social services and the most disheveled, deranged and psychotic women almost all have regular 4-7/10 boyfriends, fiances or husbands. Even the lowest women have standards that they enforce and maintain. I admire and envy that, I admire that no matter how low a woman is, she establishes a threshold and if a man does not meet that, then it doesn't matter how low she is, she will not accept him. Men don't do that, they will date and sleep with damn near any woman. Most men have no standards whatsoever.

The fact that most men don't have much of any standards is one of the primary reasons why dating is so much worse for them than opposed to women.

Men can learn a lot from women when it comes to standards, if men hold women to high standards the same way women hold men to, then dating would be slightly more leveled out. If men keep following the whole, "I'll take whatever I can get" mentality than continue to expect dating to horrible for men.
