I think that it is a symptom but not the cause. Society is not going to collapse because of picky women. You have way too much faith in humanity to believe we wouldn’t enact drastic measures to prevent that.

Society in the west is collapsing due to but not only: wages not matching inflation, an affordable housing crisis, COVID-19, wealth inequality, class stratification, disruptions in the supply chain of goods and services, global warming, worker alienation, partisan politics, and the destruction/decentralization of community.

Even then the “collapse” is going to be a slow slide that increasing picks up speed, not some one-off epoch defining event.

No because capitalism needs more people to consume and produce. A lack of that can cause huge problems. It's why Japan and other countries with such issues get "desperate" trying to fix it.

Women have always been picky, so there's really nothing new there. Go check out statistics on reproductive success of women vs. men from the bronze age if you don't believe me. Suffice to say, competition amongst men for reproductive rights were far more fierce back then (I believe the numbers are something like 1 man per 17 women who would produce offspring). What's changing are the criteria on which to be picky.

With technological advance, and comfortable lifestyles for most people, the AF/BB equation shifts back towards AF. And I say "back", because enforced monogamy via semitic religious doctrine would artificially push that equation towards BB, even in times of abundance. But that's an anomaly, and not the natural state of things. So if we want to compare "now" to "before", it really depends on what we mean by "before" - whether that's 200.000 years of modern man (the norm), or the last 2000 years of enforced monogamy (break from the norm), leading up to the sexual revolution (return to natural state).

And yes, all that talk about "societal collapse" is alarmist (and I suspect a bit of wishful thinking). As it turns out, reproduction is pretty far down the list of human priorities. When we live comfortable lives, we tend to reproduce less, so that tells its own story right there. It happened during the industrial revolution, and it escalates further as we become progressively more high tech.

That's not a bad thing. Rather, it's a form of adaptation. With automation and high tech, productivity becomes less and less linked to population size. As an example, one farmer in the 1400s could only produce food for a fraction of the populace compared to what one farmer can produce today. Alas, we need less people to do the work, which could possibly become a huge societal problem as more and more people become virtually unemployable.

Hence, we adapt. We reproduce less, and it doesn't even enter our minds unless we make a conscious effort to ponder on it. As a group/species, we just "feel like it". And that's because we are an integrated part of nature, the future and the equilibrium of all things. We adapt subconsciously, and we do so en masse. All the time.

Lower birthrate means not as many people to look after us when we are older...but that's the least of the problem.

Women are a lot pickier than men, and are getting more picky year on year. Theres a lot of evidence for this. (e.g. online dating statistics, male virginity rates) this means a large percentage of men wont be able to find a partner. Men who arent able to find a partner often get depressed, experience lack of motivation, and drop out of society. We rely heavily on men to build and maintain society, so having a large number of disaffected men not contributing to society could be disastrous.

Also, female pickiness increases single motherhood rate. Since most women are only choosing a small percentage of men to partner up with, a lot of men won't be able to become fathers, and so the single motherhood rate increases.

This is a huge problem for society. Having strong familial bonds is essential for a society to function properly, since families rest at the foundation of strong societies. Children born into fatherless homes are more likely to commit crime, commit suicide and a host of other negative effects.

This is why people say female pickiness could lead to societal collapse.

It all depends on HOW MANY leftover males there are over the next 30 years. If the current trend continues to grow, we're gonna be in serious trouble. Men who've given up on dating tend to have radically different career and spending habits than those who are on the market or in a relationship. Get too many of these guys and it could eventually cripple the economy. And then you have all the social problems, like increasing substance abuse and criminal behavior, growing animosity toward women, increased political polarization, increased radicalization, etc. Eventually it's gonna get to the point where this kind of question isn't a laughing matter anymore, and politically correct "solutions" will only make matters even worse. We're gonna have to come up with something that does NOT interfere with female sexual autonomy, yet actually works. "Throwing women back in the kitchen again" is an incel fantasy and anyone who thinks that would actually work is an idiot. There's really only 2 ways forward - either we allow those guys to take out a 30-year loan to pay for extensive plastic surgery, or we allow them the option of some kind of "woman replacement" like robots, sex dolls, hi-tech VR "girlfriends", legalized prostitution, or whatever. I believe that there is an internal cognitive dissonance in women’s minds that the men who they end up with are just as attractive as the more attractive guys they initially are interested in.

Most average men are perfectly fine with being “beta bux”. They still get sex and have kids if they want them. nah, its the exact opposite: women being picky is a natural Eugenics method that will bring about the Golden Age.

Only the most healthy, virile or clever men get to breed, which will improve the gene pool while also lowering the population. This means that the kids of the Chads will have all the more resources, potential jobs, and money to be spent on them, further improving them. The problem with the thinking of "lower fertility = better housing affordability" is that it doesn't take into account the fact that job opportunities are not distributed evenly across the country. Even today, there are affordable houses in the country, the problem is that they are where not a lot of people want to live. Even with lower fertility, you will not see big cities start being less crowded, it will start with some poor and/or rural areas lose people to those cities because that's where the career opportunities are.

Yes, it will, but not in the way that you think. We're never going to go full purge level. But the wealthy, high standard of living feminist controlled society that is essentially the west today is not going to remain.

Saying a lowering population will actually be a good thing is only good if the entire world did it, and that's not happening. For individual countries, lowering population is actually quite damaging. You have to remember that much of today's societies have essentially set up their government spending and economies in a ponzi scheme. They are paying current day entitlements through current day taxes. The 25 year old worker is paying for the benefits of the 70 year old retiree. As the population gets older and older you have fewer younger people paying for more older people and it all falls apart. Now again, you're not going to see the crazy full purge level of stuff. But you will see things such as retirement ages going up, benefits going down and taxes going up for younger people to support it. Its the same with corporations who are relying upon ever increasing revenue and profits. That works as the population keeps going up. Its horrendous when the population starts going down. Either these companies see a reduction in revenue and profits, or they have to raise their prices, which again harms everyone. Also add into this the fact that a lot of men aren't going to have much to contribute to society any more. Because they are no longer going to have the ability to get wives and have children due to women's ever increasing standards, more and more men will just work enough to support themselves and whatever habit distracts them (video games, anime, porn, etc...) Which will reduce the taxes the government is getting from them and the revenue companies are making from them.

The way a lot of governments try to combat this is through immigration. But over time this is essentially replacing the current population with that of another culture's. I absolutely can see a future in say 50 years where Islam is the predominant religion in the US due to muslim immigrants moving to the US and the Christians/Jews/Athiests largely dying off because barely any of them are having kids. And when that happens, well goodbye to all the wild benefits women are getting these days. Only Fans? Instagram and Twitch thots? Sleeping with 100 guys before getting married? Partying around throughout your entire 20s? Things like that will vanish as Islam becomes the predominant religion of the US.

Firstly, I support less population for the environment and due to the state of the world. What I don't support is anyone dictating that specifically, because humans suck and will want us all to adhere to blank to keep our lives like in a bad movie and I'm sick of life being a bad movie. I don't think there's anything wrong with a woman who is picky by general definition. I don't stand for women that say they want equality, but hide their pursuit of total gender dominance (which disturbs natural balance) under it and do massive damage to people who otherwise wouldn't have even been in the gender war. Turning down the guy that offers everything you want because he doesn't meet your delusions and slapping men like him in the face so to speak by staying with the worst of the worst like you both don't deserve better.

Most Women (I will indeed say most) also seem to talk a ton of shit on men in general over anything at any time. I have never heard coffee break or locker room talk about "yeah shes just a dumb woman ignore her, leave her ass, come out for a club night." I hated working from home in all three of my corporate environments, all they did - single, married, bisexual, whatever - "men are so dumb! he just doesnt understand! leave him already who cares if youre married!" They hive mind at work or church and get home mad already over something their girlfriends dont even understand.

All Women, honestly, need to pick better company and topics to focus on. And get more confidence in themselves. And be honest with their life and many hats and their actual face. And quit watching bachelor its ruining you its not real or happy or healthy pls 😂

Not in and of itself, but population decline could break a lot of the economic assumptions our civilization is based on and upturn the lives of millions or billions of people. Insofar as mate selection contributes to that, sure.

No. Humans on average create more value than they consume. The fewer people, the poorer people will be. And it won't reduce traffic / housing prices as the remaining people will mere concentrate in the cities. The majority of the USA today has less than one person per square mile. Yet, NY & SF and other shit cities are still have awful traffic and absurd housing prices.

IT'S NOT ALARMIST IF IT'S A FACT!

What history basically beats us over the head is; When an empire start having a fertility rate drop, we no internal resolution in sight, it will resort to importing many, many people from abroad.

A developed country is really forced to do this in order to continue it's economic activity and help increase it's tax base to support it's accustomed operating services and the increasingly burdensome social services programs for it's citizenry.

But by doing this, it introduces a lot of internal problems as these newly minted foreigners often do no have the same sort of mindset, belief systems, moral leanings as the dominant society. This becomes problematic later on as many that immigrated in will not assimilate into the larger culture. This creates a lot of social friction and eventual breakdown of what was the prevailing social fabric. Soon after this, there is a tumultuous period of time with major upheavals in the system create a lot of instability. And then the society, as it was intended, collapses.
