What effects, if any, does OLD have on female psychology? I will repeat this question at the end, as it is the fundamental question that gets to the root of all the mumbo jumbo that follows.

A few friends of mine were talking on discord and we were messing around looking at pictures of girl on the internet. One of my friends linked a picture of a very overweight woman and said that he thought she was disgusting. I made a joke that she doesn't care because tinder exists.

He said that she wouldn't get much attention on tinder and if she did get any matches, they would all be low value men.

This irked me, so me and 3 of the other guys in the server pitched in for tinder gold and ran a fake experiment. The account used pictures of the same person from r/gonewildchubby. Kate, a 25 year old woman, was the name of the account for this experiment.

Location: Mid sized city in the South. Length of experiment, 20 minutes of swiping, lasted for 4 hours until I got banned. The bio: "looking for something casual, I'm in (city) for the summer so nothing long term." The pictures were of her disgusting body in lingerie.

Results: Within seconds of creating the account the matches began to flood in. Nearly instantly after creating the account dozens of men had already liked me. It was a complete mad house. I bought gold and my phone started lagging due to the sheer amount of notifications.

A few interesting notes:

  1. Tinder does not show you all your matches and messages if you are a woman. You get so many that it displays a limited amount, only like 30 at a time as to not overwhelm the user. I believe that this is to "drip feed" women dopamine to keep them coming back. Sending them 100 messages at once is simply too much. Might as well save some of the validation for the rest of the month I guess. I have to give it to the tinder execs, that is actually brilliant.

  2. The men were not low quality. They ranged from average to well above average. Some men were literal 10/10 male models. Some of the people that messaged Kate were also very attractive. These guys were engineers, or worked decent jobs. They looked good. The idea that ugly women can only get attention from low value men is absurd and patently false due to the evidence at hand.

  3. As a man, Tinder is completely worthless unless you literally unironically look like a celebrity or if you have no standards at all. There are simply too many guys on tinder swiping on all girls. You will never stand out from the sea of men messaging her. Your money won't help, your status means shit, even your looks are pointless, no joke or witty line can help you stand out. It is purely randomness that she sees your dumb joke over the next guy. If she had sex with a new guy every single day from tinder your chances would not increase. The ratio is simply astronomically in favor of women. There will always be a guy with more money. There will always be a guy with better looks. OLD simply doesn't function properly for men.

So in summary, I have never witnessed this before in my entire life. I saw other Tinder experiments, but doing it yourself is a must. It is completely absurd and left the entire discord speechless.

After 4 hours and a constant stream of notification of new messages, Kate the land-whale ended up with over 400 matches. I am confident she could have gotten to 1000 matches if given a few more days. Many of these men were very high quality.

So to repeat my original question, What effects, if any, does OLD have on female psychology? What would logging onto your social media and seeing this many messages, or matches, or likes on your photos do to your psychology? Do humans have a mechanism to moderate the validation machine that is social media and OLD?
