I’ve heard multiple women tell me straight up they wouldn’t date someone shorter or even the same height as them. And several have stated they want a guy over 6’ despite them being well under.

I’m sure you butterflies in this sub are special and would date a midget if he went to the women’s march with you but in the real world the meme is fairly true

Ppd women are delusional. Height is a very important factor in looks and one of the hardest things to change. That being said, men should focus on what they can change. I've seen a ton of short guys who are alphas.

We don’t think it is exactly true, but that it brings up a genuine truth about women. Women are extremely shallow in their sensitivity to men’s height, and women get an undeserved pass over this.

No. 6 foot is an arbitrary number based on units of measurement. In any metric country the equivalent is usually 180cm, which is slightly below 6 feet anyway. It's a convenient number to mean "taller than average".

You're insane if you don't think that height matters in dating for men. A lot of women have a big complex over it, sometimes driven by society, sometimes based on insecure short men that poison the well, sometimes just personal taste. If you're otherwise hot and have a good personality, you can get around it, but being shorter than about 5'8 is a handicap in Western countries.

It's true but it's also worsened by men lying about their height in order to get more visibility and women thinking this is the norm. The magic number is much closer to being 5'10 or 5'11, AKA sightly above the average, cutting 60 to 66% of men out instead of 80%.

Nothing gets a group of women more interested in bragging than the height of their man. Just go in any forum or topic where women are discussing it and they will have the time of their day talking about their height vs their man's. Especially the women under 5'2. It's their favorite topic. They can't even reach these mythical 6'5 men's waistline but they love bragging about it.

Me....I think they have daddy issues. Maybe some incestuous lust after their fathers. Something twisted is going on in their heads.

I believe taller is better. I believe if you are short enough (I can't say exactle where is the line) you are pretty much screwed.

I belive exceptions exist. All generalizations that leave no room to exceptions end up being false.

It just seem odd that guys get upset over women's unrealistically high standards, but then get even MORE upset when they find out it's not even that unrealistic.

It is logical to be mad about percieved problems and be even more mad when you find out your preception is right.

The “6’ and up” memes are men commenting on what they saw women saying IRL, on dating apps, and on Twitter. And on dating apps like Bumble and Hinge, you can filter for certain height ranges because women wanted the feature. NAWALT, but for those women, the memes are mostly true.

Of course I do. As a guy who’s 5’6 I am automatically written off due to my height by a huge percentage of women. Not to mention, women love to shame men about their height, even if it’s a meme, they love to make fun of men for being short.

Also you’re not realizing that men understand that shorter men are in LTRs and marriages. No one cares about that, it’s about being able to get laid. Short men are not getting laid and have casual sex with many women, only tall men get to have that. That is what men are mad about with the 6 foot meme, no one is assuming they can’t get a gf, any guy can get that.

For some women it is, and for some it isn't. The general rule seems to be 'taller than them.' Something to do with feeling safe and protected, because taller guys somehow fight better. So yes, guys over six feet have an easier time dating. That's just life.

Height makes a man slightly more attractive, but it is so insignificant compared to charisma we might as well not even consider it. I've had women tell me that they are dating me simply because of my height. But these girls had also dated regular height guys as well. I also know this guy who is 5' 2". He's tiny. I can't imagine who he is going to date so far it's nobody.

I'm not sure why guys call this being shallow though. It isn't. Tall people have huge advantages in life. Why curse your own children with short genes?

I'm only 5'8" and have never had problems with even women just a couple of inches shorter than me rejecting me because of my height. On the other hand, almost every woman I've known who I've been close enough to has admitted to me that they aren't attracted to men shorter than them, and I had the impression that the one woman who was taller than me who I was attracted to in the past wasn't attracted to me due to the fact that I was shorter. I'm guessing that taller women might make exceptions if the shorter guy had a hot enough face, a muscular body, or a ton of charisma, none of which I have.

It is partly true. Unless a woman is 5'9 or taller she isn't going to judge a man on her height she judges a man on his height compared to other men. A 5'2 girl is shorter than nearly every guy but it doesn't mean she doesn't want a guy who is similar height to all her friend's boyfriends and other men.

Having said that a 5'2 girl is going to have no idea how tall a 5'10 man is, he can claim 6'1 and she probably would believe it.

It's not a rule, women are usually more attracted to men taller than them. While men are more attracted to women shorter than them. It isn't that men think that women shouldn't have standards, it's them not being assailed about it. (I'm not saying all men realize that it has been exaggerated)

As someone who is 5'10 no I don't think it's true. Sure you get really vapid chicks on tinder who will state anything less than 6' or 6'2 isn't good enough on their tinder bios even if theyre 5'2 but I think nearly all girls are cool with dating guys under 6' as long as you are noticeably taller than them.

Obviously 6'4 version of me would be considered more attractive than 5'10 version of me but I don't think it's as big of a deal as the internet/OLD makes out.

Now, I get why women wouldn't want to date short men. By that I mean shorter than them. I'm going to be honest, I would be very hard pressed to get involved with a woman that was taller than me. That would be a huge turn off.

What pisses me off is when I go on dating sites and look at profiles of women that are anywhere from 5'0" to 5'5". The majority of these broads literally filter out anyone that doesn't mark themselves as at least 5'11". I'm not kidding; if you aren't an inch away from 6 feet they filter you out. It's like, bitch, you're almost medically a fucking midget. Get over yourself.

I mean, I like shorter women and don't at all like tall women, everyone has preferences, but I would date a women that was like an inch or two shorter than me; not a fucking foot shorter than me like these chicks want.

I'm 6'4", my friend is maybe 5'9". Historically when we go out together girls will literally run past him to come to me. I'm also far less physically attractive IMO (bigger muscles, but not as in shape), we dress similarly, similar hair.

It seems from my experience that the more mature and accomplished the woman is, the less it seems to matter to them. Maybe it's a security thing, it maybe it's a dominance thing, not sure.

But ultimately, height only appears to make a huge difference to insecure, materialistic women. I mean genetically we're predisposed to be attracted to bigger stronger mates so that probably explains the whole debate

I'm 5'6 and have never been single for more than a few years. No one is carrying around rulers and most people are bad at gauging height. So while maybe some chicks were put off by my height, it wasn't enough to overshadow the number of chicks who still liked that I was fun and friendly and could give them a fun night out.

Yes it absolutely is a thing, I've heard numerous women openly say that they wouldn't want to date a guy under 6'.

The ironic part is that women are also terrible at accurately judging height. Almost every guy is a few inches taller than the average woman, they just focus on 6' because it's slightly taller than average but more importantly it's an easy to remember round number. I'm guessing that women living in counties that use an inferior system of units aren't obsessed with men being at least 182.88cm.

A lot of it comes down to their overall impression of him more than his actual height. A confident, good looking, high SMV guy who is really only 5'10" will seem "tall" to them, and they will assume he is 6'+. Meanwhile, an awkward, ugly, weirdo who is legitimately 6' will often be perceived as shorter.
