There's a belief that gets stated a lot when it comes to dating/sex advice. It's that "men make the first move". You hear it everywhere "men have to make the first move otherwise they get nothing".

But is it really true? From what I've observed, women show their interest in men in a variety of different ways - touching their hair, excessively giggling at a man's jokes, smiling at him, constantly being in a man's presence, dropping obvious hints that she wants to meet, moving the topic onto sex, open body language and generally making it very easy for a man to ask her out and take things to the next level.

The common theme is that women are the ones who show the interest. All the man has to do is pick up on the signals. And the signals are usually pretty obvious.

It's summed up well in this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/ForeverAlone/comments/c90q23/women_dont_play_hard_to_get_with_men_theyre/

People there talk about the obvious differences in women's behaviour when interacting with their Chad coworkers compared to the uglier men. The difference is apparently night and day, and it shows that if you're a man who women desire, they will make it very obvious they are into you. All you have to do is reciprocate that interest and you've basically got a date/sex with her.

When you think of it this way, women are the ones who make the first move. They are the ones who decide which men get the dates/sex and which men don't.

We tell men who are not getting any female interest "oh men are the ones who have to make the first move, they have to do all the initiating". It's basically another way of saying "you're undesirable to women", but because we don't want to say that, we tell men it's their fault for not approaching. They must approach more, take the initiative, and it's this reason they are not getting anywhere with women. When in reality, if you're a hot man or a man of value, women make it obvious that they like you. If they don't like you, there will be no signals and no amount of approaching is going to change that.

What do you reckon?
