Thought about having this as a Question for Men. But I realised that female input would be pretty good too, because most females here seem honest and less prone to virtue signalling like I see elsewhere on reddit.

I was having a discussion in TRP sub with a guy about lifting. He said that he had been lifting for just 6 months, had put on a "noticeable layer of muscle" and the amount of female attention he received was "astounding". I told him that he's chatting nonsense - if it was as easy as lifting for 6 months and getting all that female attention, every guy would be doing it. His claims just didn't make any sense.

This is not the first time I've seen big claims like this. I've seen guys in TRP sub saying they've lifted for just 1 year and suddenly they catch women eyeing them everywhere they go and asking to feel their muscles.

I feel like sometimes I'm living in an alternate reality, because me and other guys I know who lift have experienced none of that. Yet on TRP it seems very common. Which makes me wonder whether lifting has such the massive effect on female attraction that Red Pillers claim it does.

I've seen females here say that lifting as a blanket advice for guys is bad, because big muscles don't look right on certain guys. For example if you've got a feminine face, you're better off going for more of an androgynous look. Another example is if you're very short, big muscles look really silly according to female opinions I've read on here.

So what do you reckon? Do Red Pillers over-exaggerate things or does it actually make a huge difference?
