We get told this phrase an awful lot growing up and in much of mainstream dating advice "there's someone out there for everyone, you will find him/her when you least expect it". And logically, we see people older than us in marriages or long term relationships, so why would we question it? It gives us positivity, hope and motivation to achieve things, knowing that one day someone will be attracted to us and want to spend the rest of their life with us.

But now that we know women only find a minority of men attractive, rates of sexlessness among young men has risen sharply in the last 10 years, social media/online dating has changed the landscape and women have complete economic freedom now, is this phrase actually true?

What do you reckon? Do you believe that there is someone out there for everyone, or do many people just not find anyone and end up in terrible relationships or spend the rest of their life alone? I couldn't find any statistics on this, so I wonder how many people end up alone for their whole lives, or just jump from bad relationship to bad relationship.
